As I look around me I notice that I am surrounded by a new shape, the arch! The arch is a smooth shape that allows me to enter the next space and in most cases, without opening a door. Look around you, what shapes do you see, what do they mean to you?
If shapes don't speak to you, tell me about your day, I miss greeting all of you so I say" Buon giorno tutti, come stai?" (Good morning to all , how are you?)

Over in Vermont we have an inch of snow on the ground :( I bet that you will have a great Easter vacation in Italy. I am really exited for Easter vacation I just hope that all of the snow will be melted by then! Are the pictures you put on the blog the pictures of you dad's house? If so they are really pretty pictures! I've always wanted to go to Italy myself and by the look of those pictures it makes me want to go even more! I can't wait to see you again after vacation, have a nice time in Italy!

  3. In this room i see lots of rectangle and squares it makes me think that I am in a box.
I am wondering that if in different states and country’s that there are different shapes that make a building? or more of some shapes then others? I think that here inn Vermont that there are more square looking house then any other, and I think that because when you build a house with square and rectangles it give the house more support.
    Mrs.Houston,
Is that your dad's house? Are you haveing fun? What is different there? What is it like to live there?

  4. When I look around I see the rectangular doorway and a rectangular prism fish tank. I bet you are tired after being in Ferry Beach and then going to Italy, it looks really nice there. Today we have a regular schedule. This morning there was a play in the commons area about the FBI(Fungus Bacteria Invertebrates)from ferry beach! By for now, Finn

  5. I see mostly rectangles the doors, the windows, I love the arch though. I hope you are having a wonderful time. The arch is so interesting because its not square their different from other shapes. I think a lot of people with ask this question but is that your dads house in Italy? Or is it a historic house for people to look at? School is going well but we all miss you, vacation is coming up and I'm going to Michigan. Michigan is where my god mother lives with her husband and her son Van. Maybe I can take some pictures and send them to you?

I've always wanted to go to Italy, I love the food but I would love to explore of cultures other then my own. Italy must be amazing I was wondering how the life in Italy is, how's it like being there walking the streets that you used to walk when you where a kid? Is there any spot that you remember the most that you have seen again? When you get back I hope you can share about everything that you did there, the things that you might have seen. I hope that you are having fun with your family and seeing you dad, can't wait for you to get back and tell us about Italy.

  6. I see rectangles they are very boring. They are all over the class room. I wish there was a new shape in the class.

The day is going well. I wish it was over so it can be thursday night. My dad is doing VT allstar basketball players against the Williamstown, Spaulding and Websterville seniors. It is going to be so fun.

  7. I see a lot of rectangles, the doors are rectangles some of the walls, the art on your wall. The desks are rectangles. I am doing great and I am so excited to see my family on Easter. And it is going to be nice having some relaxing time after our long Ferry Beach trip. I am also happy because I maybe get to see my cousins on Easter and I haven’t seen them in a long time and I miss them. I am just happy that I get to spend time with all of my family and my grandma coming home from Florida on Saturday. I am really exited to see her because she was gone for like two months. And she said she has a surprise for me when she gets home! I am exited to see what it is, and I am asking my Mom for the complete box set of Pretty Little Liars. How are you? Are you having fun? what are you doing, and what is your favourite thing so far?

  10. I see a lot of rectangles. They are mostly door ways. The turtle, fish, and cockroach tanks are all rectangle. The art in the corner are all rectangle too. Our binders, textbook, assignment books, net books, and posters are all rectangle. There are many rectangular objects in the S.S,L.A,and math room. The trash can, desks, recycling box,and all the white boards are rectangular. There are millions of rectangular things around the world.
P.S. Is that the house you are staying at, It is very beautiful....SEE YOU SOON!!!: )

  11. In the pictures I see parts of a house. There is a stair case, two doors, a wall with a door in it, and an entrance to a room. The only thing like that here is the stone wall. The school is like a prison with big stone walls so tortured kids can't get out. AKA HELP ME!!! It could be worse at North Korea but there people don't have Eli to make things interesting.

  12. Is this your house that you live in?
What does that door lead to the door that is closed and is atached to that rock wall any way it look'es cool?! What is that thing next to it that is haning there?
I like the stair cases in the first pictur but they look like they could brake but they probly not brake.I like all the pickers that you posted on the blog.!

  13. Today there are positives and negatives, first Ill tell you about the positives. The first positive is I am awake and that is something I am not used to because I am usually always tired but not today. Another positive is that it is sunny out so I can go play outside. The third positive today is cnn student news was very interesting and from cnn I have learned alot about Ebola which is a sickness that only is contagious when you have the sickness. {part one}

  15. I see a circle which looks like the earth and it reminds me of a safe place like home and the snow the great fall where all the leaves change colors. I see a square which reminds me of travailing the world and seeing different things and not just staying in Vermont and seeing the coral reefs of Honduras Roaton, and looking and learning about Greek mythology in Greece and seeing the biggest mountains for skiing and going to the worlds highest restaurant in Switzerland.

When I look at these pictures it reminds me of the picture in your room of the kid running through that long arch near your desk. It also reminds me of the grow cart if you look at id sideways. I hope your trip gos well,

  19. My day is going well, Math was fun. I messed up a bunch of problems, but I sorted them out. Social Studies isn't the same without you. CNN didn't work for a while, but we got it going so here I am typing my response, without anything more to say, because this is the present and I can,t look into the future. Have a good vaca' !

  20. How's Italy? I have always wanted to go there. I see lots of rectangles in the classroom right now from the three doors to the whiteboard. I like circles the most because they circle around and a round an endless cycle that you can always depend on. My day is going well I am exited to play mummies message well I gotta go see after break!

  21. Here in 'Murica, we stick with easy, boring, squares and rectangles.
We are "modern", which somehow, that makes squares "cool". We don't have as much art and history as Italy does, which is kind of annoying sometimes. Anyways, now on to other things.
On Monday, I did giants on high bar. That was fun.
On Monday I also went to the chiropractic, who pretty much broke my back and neck. He would crack my whole lower back, then my whole upper back, then my neck both ways. Thats was over whelming.
Today is chiropractic right after school, then right to gymnastics again. I just can't wait for vacation, when I can sleep and go outside and do better things than school. The only thing that isn't good about vacation is that gymnastics is off for a week. I guess all I will be doing is handstands in the living room.

  22. Are all those pictures of the house your staying in? And were there is a picture at the top of the stairs, what is that a picture of? And were there is double wooden doors with a slanting roof, is that a cellar? What is the food like in Italy? How is your stay going? Have you met any old friends? Please respond.

  24. Hi mrs. Houston!

Even though you have just left, we all miss you. Im very excited because my mom is due in 1 week, the 26! My Me'me is coming and she dosn't like to be bored so were taking her to cabot cheese, b+j factory, and jay peek because this is only her 2nd time here. I would have my own huge room in a sort of egg shape. Like have the walls be curved. i would place my bean bag in it and my desk. I would also have my dream art station. I would have all my acrylic paint on one side, my oil pants and watercolors on the other side. I would also have my thin brushes and thick brushes and my canvases, and thick paper good for my oil pastels and charcoal drawings. As you can tell i love my art! Oh! And I would have my own king size bed. And al the rooms in the house would be like an egg cartin. I almost forgot! This summer Im going to go to gymnastics camp with emily and then im going to join a team!

  25. I just see rectangles. There's the door, computers, cabinets. All the usual. How are you? Has it been awesome there? All the sights, smells, and memories?I bet it is a little sad seeing old and good memories, but it's been a while right? Enjoy it! I am soooo, excited for tomorrow! At 1pm tomorrow I leave to go to the dentist to get my tooth pulled out and then we drive to Albany, New-York to get into a hotel. Then we are going to stay the night, then wake up a 5:30 in the morning to drive to airport to get onto a plane to go to Disney!

  27. Hi my name is Lena, my father and I live in Italy, my father is a painter and a pretty good one at that. He's even taught me some of his secret techniques on how to paint his stile. Father wants me to be a painter one day but I really want to be an architect.

  28. I see a lot of squares. I think next year you should change the room by putting more shapes in the room like circles triangles and even some arches to remind you of home and your mother.
The arches seem like something that would remind you of your family and all your childhood friends.

The first picture reminds me of when I went to a light house in Cape Cod. The stairs were windy and had an arch. Thanks for reminding me about that light house. It is a really great memory.

  30. I love the pictures, they are so paradise looking. I would love to be there. Domes are my favourite shape. To have a house with domes as doors that would be my dream home, especially if it was over looking the water on a mountain so you could see the hole tropical island. the picture of the outside dome door was so cool, it looked rustic and original. Also the one with the view of the doors and the stone walls with the kind of see through roof. Those are some of the best pictures I've seen.

  31. The water is really high on rt 100 it is like 3 times bigger high and wider than normal. It is like 5 feet over normal and it's was pretty worm out before it was snowing. I liked the warmth. :(

I, I mean parents I hope they dont read this or I'll have to go up to the attic for sure, those pictures above the short paragraph we all have to write are the pictures of the the attic. And I bet you're saying well thats fine; your just a brat and I'll tell you that's what It looked like 400 years ago! now it is haunted by the species of armdolitildas; no one has come out alive...

  36. The arch is a pretty cool. We definitely don't have many of those here in Vermont. That is also a really nice house are you staying in it? I think the shape that I see the most is probably rectangles. Lots of things are rectangles up here in the USA. The posters, the shades, the fish tanks and turtles tanks. How do you say good by in Italian? Have a good rest of your time there.

  40. Is this your Italian home. It looks like there are many arches in this house. There are many different shapes I see like squares and ovals. In the picture that you can see outside there are mountains in the background which means that the house is not in the city. My favourite picture is the one with the stone arch because it looks very old. my least favourite picture is the one that is inside and white because it is to plain and boring.
My grandpa would love looking at these arches because he love architecture and cool creations and buildings. I am going to spend a lot of time with him over vacation because when ever my cousins come up i see him a lot. I hope you are having a good time in Italian

  44. I see squares and rectangles! Those are my least favorite shapes. I don't like how the points are a perfect 90 degree. I love ovals and how they flow around and are not perfect circles they just are just good at being ovals! Ovals make me feel safe. If you go into the tip they close around you like a big hug!!! I like any shape that doesn't have 90 degree angles. We miss you Mrs.Houston!

  45. Whenever you walk into a room, you don't usually think "Wow, all of these shapes are so cool!" But when I saw the picture I thought it was such a unique shape of a door or other things. Anyway, for this vacation I am going to be at home hanging out with family while a lot of other people are going to be in different warm places. But, at least we have vacation. I hope you're having a really good time in Italy! We miss you at school and can't wait to see you when we come back to school. Everybody is working hard to get things done, and Sally and Tiffany are doing a great job, close to how good you do everyday when you are here! We miss you!

I see squares and rectangles, boxes and circles, squiggles, triangles, and diamond, if I was to build a house it would be in the shape of a group mushrooms, with coloured tiles instead of paint, with a yellow barn with three painted horses, and two sheep dogs and seven sheep. the rooms in the house with be neon green and the beds will be circles and ovules, with arched windows and twenty archers of land, yes this will be my house I will be a doctor of animals from great to small this is the perfect life to me,what is your perfect life? oh and p.s Mrs.Huston, How is your vacation in Italy so far?

  51. Hey Mrs. Houston! I think the arch is pretty cool. Vermont doesn't have many of those. I see a lot of shapes, predominantly circles and rectangles. The second picture kinda looks like a creepy dungeon, so I'm not sure how much I'd want to go in there. Although it's probably not that creepy. Anyway, it's a really nice house. How was your flight? How is it in Italy? Vermont is the same. Except, we have snow again, so that's disappointing. Take pictures so we can see what it looks like there. Have fun, and see you soon!
